Troop 832 was originally chartered in 1990 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Powhatan, VA with a small group of eager boys and leaders. Our Scouting program is built around the traditions of Scouting and uses the Patrol Method in order for the young men of our Troop to have the opportunity to learn and use leadership skills in planning outings, preparing menus, teaching outdoor skills, encouraging advancement, solving problems, handling finances, and many other activities.
“The patrol method is not a way to operate a Boy Scout troop, it is the only way. Unless the patrol method is in operation, you don't really have a Boy Scout troop.”
